1793 Bermuda Halfpenny American Colonial Coin This coin is getting very tough to buy these days. One of the reasons is that collectors are finding out that these coins circulated in eastern coastal cities of America. Maritime trades between U.S. and the West Indies were where the money was back then. If you made a few successful runs, you became rich. However, there were risks, too. Pirates and foreign ships could take you as prize, and many US ships were captured, raising maritime insurance very high. At any rate, some of this coinage reached US port cities and circulated quite freely. Our piece here is above average with decent color and surfaces. It looks to have been lightly burnished long ago. Because of salty air, many of these are found dark and corroded; ours is not. This piece is much better looking in person than the photos indicate. Very attractively priced! Sales Tax : For shipment within New York State, 8% sales tax will be added to invoice, unless the buyer has a dealer resale certificate. We would need a jpg image of filled-in ST-120 sent by email. For International Buyers: Custom/Import duties, taxes, etc. are not included in the item price or shipping. Such charges are YOUR responsibility, and they are strictly between you and your country. We have nothing to do with them.
