These one escudo gold coins were recognized around the world for their high value and reliable purity. World tradehad reached a new apex in 1793 and these highly utilized coins of substantial value rarely survived in near mintstate condition. This coin should grade Very Fine or better by PCGS standards. Madrid mint, the Kings City.It was in this year, 1793, George Washington signed the Fugitive Slave Act.
