Welcome to my Ebay store entering my 7th year of selling coins on Ebay. We are very proud of our history of satisfied customers and invite you to check out all the wonderful feedback we have received in over 1500 transactions. We offer a full 7 day return policy, unless otherwise stated. We offer accurate descriptions, excellent communication, fast shipping, and OH the COINS!!!! We have a philosophy re: coins that considers strike, luster, and overall eye appeal as a part of the value of the coins. Anyone can buy a slabbed coin and think they know the value, however no two coins are the same. Please consider that when you buy a coin it should be right for you, and you should be pleased not just by the price, but by the overall quality. One coin can be sold for less than bid while another many multiples of the price and the latter may be the bargain! Price Guides are guides, but look for the best if you want a great collection. Please write with any questions or comments. Proudly offered for sale is this exquisite 1797 Silver Half Dime of the 16 Stars Variety LM-2 graded XF 40 Details in a newer ANACS holder. ANACS coins right now will compete with anyone as they changed their grading team while going to the new yellow slab. This coin has a large old scratch on the reverse and a few very fine ones on both sides. It also has fabulous warm rainbow tones on the obverse and exquisite detail. Almost all of the hair strands of Liberty are precisely struck and defined. The stars are crisp. The obverse looks AU. The reverse is a bit soft at the center, as struck. There were 44,527 coins of this issue struck in 1797 which includes all varieties. There were 13 Star, 15 Star and 16 Star varieties. The mint was struggling with the first addition of new states adding more stars to reflect these changes in the infant America. What makes this coin even more rare is that it is a part of just a 2 year type of Draped Bust Half Dimes and in 1796 there were just 10,230 minted. Nice, problem free XF coins sell in the $6,000-$8,000 range and go even higher. This coin was scratched, but the surfaces look original, the obverse detail fabulous, the color original and delightful. Hard to find these this nice! I will try to add more pics that wil hopefully give a better sense of how lovely this coin is. Please feel free to ask any questions. Check out the price guides and you will see this as a bargain!
