1799 ENGLISH HALLMARKED - CHEESE PLANE with ENGRAVED IVORY HANDLE. OVERALL LENGTH OF ABOUT 10", WIDTH AT THE STERLING BLADE IS 2 3/4 NEAR HANDLE & 2 1/2 NEAR THE END. THIS BEAUTIFUL VERY OLD CHEESE PLANE IS DAMAGED JUST BELOW THE HANDLE NEAR THE PATTERN AS SEEN IN THE PHOTO. IT APPEARS IT WAS REPAIRED AT ONE TIME AND STILL NEEDS REPAIR. THE ENGRAVING ON THE IVORY HANDLE IS AN ARM HOLDING A BIRD. THE MAKERS MARKS NEAR THE HALLMARKS ARE THE LETTERS 'GB' SOLD AS IS, WITH NO WARRANTIES OR GUARANTEES I am not entirely certain the handle is ivory, but assumed so from the grain. NOTE: USPS Priority Shipping on this item, which also includes insurance. Use the shipping calculator to determine your shipping costs, if I have not established a flat rate shipping cost. I gladly combine shipping on most items. Combining shipping also saves me packaging supplies, as well as saving you money. Combining some items is not advisable because of size and or very fragile items with special handling. REFUND POLICY Many items I sell have a thirty-day refund policy. Return shipping charges are the responsibility of the buyer/purchaser, however; if I made an error in the listing, i.e., damage to an item not described in the listing, or other oversights, I will pay return shipping charges or refund entire purchase price to buyer, at my discretion. Items sold with no refund policy are sold as is, with no guarantees or warranties. These items are sold as described in the listing, all sales being final. It is up to the buyer to ask questions before purchasing an item. Ask questions well before the end of an auction when at all possible. INSURANCE: Insurance is usually optional, sometimes mandatory. As a seller, I cannot and will not be held responsibility for loss of items or damage to items because the buyer failed or neglected to purchase insurance. Items very seldom disappear between the sender and the receiver. I can personally vouch for the fact that: It does happen. Unbelievably, not everyone who handles a package between you and me is honest. PAYMENT: Paypal, money orders, cashiers check and personal checks. Payments made by personal check may require a hold on the item(s) until the checks clear my bank. Payments are expected within 3 days of purchase unless previous arrangements have been made. If for some reason, you do not get a response in a timely manner it is because I am not able to do so.
