Stunning, classical period (1640-1740), Dehua Yao, Blanc de Chine Guanyin, with impressed seal of master He Chaozong, thickly sculpted of pai tz'u clay with interior cracks, and with losses to hands, hair ornament and base, which also shows some rudimentary repair. Probably Kangxi Period (1662-1722) est. c.1680 from Dehua, Fujian Province, China. A wonderful, museum quality sculpture, which is a beautiful example of Blanc de Chine mastery as it stands, and an excellent candidate for restoration.
