This auction is for a 17 th Century Chinese Blue and White Double Gourd Vase. This vase is painted with a variety of motifs including lush flowers and interesting designs. The double gourd vase has a charming appeal, not only for its painting, but also due to the fact that during firing, one portion of the vase dropped lower than the other. The result is that the vase leans to one side. This certainly gives this lovely item a character all its own. This is truly a one of a kind double gourd vase - no one will have another like it. To the top of the vase, this item measures approximately 11 & ½". At the widest section of the bottom of the double gourd, the vase is about 6" wide. At the upper gourd, the vase is 3 & 7/8" wide. T he base of the vase measures 3 &3/4." T is old repair-work to this vase - t are staples on the bottom, and at some point, staples were removed from the body. T are some minor repairs to the rim of the vase and you can see age lines in the inner rim. I WILL SEND YOU AN INVOICE AFTER THE AUCTION IS OVER.
