PLEASE place your bid carefully, as I have had a rash of canceled bids placed by disreputable buyers attempting to determine my reserves. If I determine that a bid was placed for this reason and then canceled, I will cancel any subsequent bids from that buyer. The number of deadbeat buyers and canceled bids has grown alarmingly and I have been forced to set these limits to try and deal with the damage this does to my auctions (and the damage it does to all honest and conscientious ebayers). Unfortunately, ebay is doing nothing effectual to deal with these problems (one Chinese mainland buyer with 2 feedbacks has canceled 24 bids in a three month period...3 times in one of my auctions alone...ebay oversight?)Evidently t are bidders who seem to feel that bidding is some sort of competitive sport...with no rules) A very scarce, bold and lively painted blue & white bottle shaped Kraak style Ming Dynasty Wanli vase. Deep blue under-glaze with touches of'heaping and piling' type impurities (see photo close-ups).With lightly darkened glaze crazing and obvious loss to the top.Judging by the weathering and darkening of the exposed porcelain,this damage happened in the distant past (see photo of top).10 & 1/8" inches high by 6 & ¼"greatest diameter.My very modest reserve is set to protect my investment. The identification and dating of Antiques and Decorative Arts is at times a more or less subjective endeavor. For a variety of reasons, one 'expert's' results can differ from another's. My descriptions are based on my researches and experience. The time to question these, is before bidding, not after. I go to great lengths to be as accurate as possible and to provide enough photographs to allow the buyer to exercise their own judgment. However, I cannot be responsible for differing opinions, when brought into play after the close of an auction. This despite the fact that the object was accurately represented and well photographed.PLEASE NOTE: Unless it's absolutely unnecessary, ALL of my items are shipped double boxed, with sufficient buffer/packing room all around in each box. I am a meticulous packer, taking time and trouble to try and insure that the item arrives undamaged. I do not charge for materials or handling. However, my scales is not calibrated to the Post Office scales, and the difference of an ounce can alter the cost of shipping by $1 or more, up or down (the price changes at the first ounce over the even pound weight). I do my best to be as accurate as possible when calculating shipping, but cannot be responsible for any discrepancy between my scales and that of the Post Office. read more
