The greatest and earliest American Bible Box to ever be offered on Ebay that I know of. This box dates to the last quarter of the 17th Century, C1690-1720 and is in PERFECT, PERFECT condition. Made of native white pine this great bible box retains it's original leather hinges which are held on by the original roseheaded nails. Every nail in this box is untouched and original. The oxidation on every nail is untouched. The 17th century escutcheon is untouched and t is no evidence of any other. As for the SURFACE - COMPLETELY ORIGINAL, UNTOUCHED AND PERFECT. T are NO apologies for this box!!! The construction and wood used would place the origin of this box to the Plymouth County Region of Massachusetts from the end of the 17th Century. This box is MUSEUM QUALITY and is worthy of the best collection. As stated T ARE NO RESTORATIONS OR REPAIRS TO THIS PIECE! I can't remember a piece of Pilgrim Furniture being offered in this condition and surface quality. It exhibits only the typical wear and tear you would see from over 300 years of use as I have shown in the photos. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to acquire a perfect piece of American Pilgrim Century Furniture in original surface. I can't even imagine what an item like this would be marked at a major antique show. The dimensions of the box are as follows: Outside - 22" wide, 14" deep, 9" tall Inside - 20" wide, 12" deep, 6 1/2" tallYOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!! Like always, Low starting Price and NO reserve.
