Item Name - 1800 Antique Flame Mahogany Veneer Sheraton Unique Desk Type of Furniture - Desk Item Number - TOC547 ·Time Period - 1800 Type of Material - Walnut Country of Origin - USA Dimensions - 22" deep and 33" wide closed and 40 " from floor to top back, writing surface is 22" x 33" open What a grand old piece this is, still very sturdy and serviceable on its turned legs with tapered feet!. In great condition considering its age and use. As you can see t is some staining on the foldout part of the desk top and the top back has been covered with a piece of oak probably to cover veneer damage. But the sides, front, and fold out top are beautifully grained in old style 1/8" thick mahogany veneer with only a couple of small chips and expected cracks. The front folds down into a 22" x 33" felt covered writing surface. When the writing surface is open, both upper and lower sections of the hinged writing surface raise up to reveal hidden storage space. The three hand dovetailed drawers on the top have matching veneered knobs and when the writing surface is closed the drawers are secured. T is a lock on the desk,. but the key is missing.
