Up for auction is a vintage, Reed and Barton, silver plated Teapot that measures 6.25 inches high and 9.75 inches wide from the handle to the spout. The design around the top rim of the teapot looks like embossed clusters of berries growing along a blocked linear design. This design is carried out on the hinged teapot covers rim. The front of the teapot is engraved with the name, âeoeEUNICE.âe What makes this an outstanding piece is the Egyptian Sphinx Lion Finial on the teapot cover and the four Buck figural feet with large antlers with one hoofed foot on each corner that the teapot rests upon. A gracious curved and decorated spout and a lovely handle complete this magnificent piece of a gracious era. The teapot bears the Reed and Barton mark of the 1870âe(tm)s to 1880âe(tm)s and the numbers 2247 and 5. The mark is small and was very difficult to photograph. Considering the age of the teapot, it is in NEAR MINT condition. T is some very minor silver wear on the handle but it does not detract from the beauty of this piece.
