Just acquired out of a Midwest estate is this fabulous deck of late 1800's Victorian Playing Cards with a game counter case. The box reads: PERFECTION PLAYING CARD CO. TIP-TOP N0. 350 ENAMELLED. Philadelphia. T are 52 cards plus the extra one with the High Wheel Bicycle on it. The cards have the original box dated Christmas of 1890. The box is in very good condition with the exception of a missing top flap. Probably made in the late 1880's era these cards are in amazing condition given their age. The edges are ~GOLD~ and show next to no wear. T are no tears, bends or creases. The colors are bright and t are no stains or discoloration. I'm not saying they are mint but over all pretty close to it. The only card that does show some wear I feel is worth mentioning is the Joker with the High Wheel Bicycle on it. It is a little dirty and the corners are worn some. It appears that these cards were hardly if ever used. They were still pretty much in order like when taken fresh out of a sealed pack. The unusual counter box is in very good condition as well. I can't imagine that many decks from this era could have survived in this extra fine condition.
