EARLY 1800S HAND MADE AMERICANA PRIMITIVE STONEWARE POTTERY KENTUCKY WHISKEY JUG/CROCK WHICH HAS A HAND APPLIED STRAP HANDLE. GORGEOUS MOTTLING OF COLOR IN THE POTTERY (PLEASE SEE PICS) OF DARK GRAY WITH REDDISH BROWN UNDERTONES OF THE CLAY WORK TOGETHER TO CREATE AN AESTHETICALLY PLEASING JUG/CROCK FOR THE SERIOUS COLLECTOR OR LOVER OF PRIMITIVE AMERICANA STONEWARE POTTERY. GORGEOUS THICK AND ROUGH TACTILE SURFACE TEXTURE OF THIS ANTIQUE JUG CAPTURES ITS ESSENCE. THE JUG IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH ONLY ONE CHIP ON THE TOP RIM (PLEASE SEE PICS). THIS IS A VERY THICK PRIMITIVE WHISKEY JUG AND EMBLEMATIC OF THE JUGS MADE FOR THIS PURPOSE IN KENTUCKY IN THE 1800S. THERE IS NO OTHER DAMAGE TO JUG AND IT BEARS NO SCRATCHES, CRACKS, OR CHIPS (UNLESS PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED), BUT DOES HAVE THE CHARACTERISTIC MARS ASSOCIATED WITH FIRING IN THE KILN AND ITS CREATION (PLEASE SEE PICS).
