The first photo shows some of the canning jars I have available for listing and sale. I have more jars than would not fit in the group photo and plan to list a couple jars from time to time. All of these jars are different in either pattern or size. Yellow ware canning jars were used from around 1840 to the late 1800s and were quickly replaced with glass mason jars. This is the smaller of two graduated barrel shaped canning jars being listed. The jar is very crisply molded with wooden staves and bands. This jar is measures only 5 3/4" to the rim by 3 3/4" wide across the base. Most jars have some damage from use, this is in near mint condition with only a flake inside the opening and no molding flaws. Canning jars make nice additions to any yellow ware collection and are especially attractive in groups.
