1800s EMBOSSED DEEP TEAL SQUAT Old Hand Blown SODA BEER
Hand blown from a batch of deep teal (very dark, green-blue) glass, this embossed squat is probably from the late 1860s or early 1870s and has a smooth base, showing no pontil scar. Note the swirl of olive contaminants in the neck, below the collar ---an attractive addition of character.
Recently culled from a historic Northeastern United States excavation; well-scrubbed and ready for auction! About 7" high with no chips, cracks, dings or bruises. Embossing reads "ROBT. ANDREWS" which is a known Philadelphia propietary name. Large monogram "A" on reverse. While an evening in the tumbler is not necessary, but it will only help this prize to really sparkle when it's on your window sill, at home or in your shop!
