AMAZING 18oo's european SOLID SILVER EAGLE CLAW tea strainer FINEST WE HAVE SEE.GREAT EAGLE CLAW HANDLE. NO RESERVE! Presented is a very fine quality tea strainer. This item is unique in numerous ways it has a classical style handle this type of style was in use in 1790's in Europe and less common tafter. It has a finely pierced design in the bowl of the strainer and also a small hook so it could be placed on a cup easily. The handle is what attracted me to this item as it is formed as an Eagle tallon clutching a ball. It has to hallmaks to it they are shown. I found some similar markings in my reference materials some were for switzerland but I did not find an exact match. I am listing this item as sterling it is 800 silver sterling silver is 925 so t is sligtly less silver in this alloy than in sterling silver. Condition is very good with no dents dings or monogram t is a possible well done repair at base of handle weighs 30 grams 6 inches long 2 1/4 inches across bowl of spoon My low starting price is in no way indicative of this items true value I am happy to answer questions and to send additional photos thanks for looking and please see my other auctions.
