This is a very old and rare stoneware salt crock in the maize or corn pattern. Is 5 3/4" high at the back; 5 3/4" across; hole in top of back for hanging if desired. Has green corn husks around the bottom and these come to the top on the back area; rest is overall corn kernel pattern. Has overall crazing inside and out; 2 small glaze chips on inside top of rim; inside has some stain and discoloration; no cracks. The bottom has some significant loss of the glaze surface. Has old dirty patina and might clean up; is not nice shiny bright finish and much older than Shawnee corn items. An unusual butter crock that matches this from the same estate is also being lishted. Buyer to pay 9.00 shipping and insurance; personal check is fine; paypal is fine.
