This auction offers a classic English Sheffield silverplate Fish Serving set. The 9 1/2" fork and the 12 1/2" knife were made by Mappin Brothers, a factory that used that name from 1846 to 1902. The hollow handles are embossed with an ornate design of scrolls and flowers. The knife blade and the bowl of the fork are beautifully engraved with chasing in a fern leaf motif. Both pieces have the early Mappin Brothers "sun" mark. This set is in exceptional estate condition with no dents, plate loss or other damage. T are light surface scratches from years of storage but I feel sure they have been used very seldom if at all. This handsome English fish set will be an ideal addition to a collection! The cost of U.S. shipping and very careful packing varies with your postal zone. Please see the USPS estimate above.
