Great authentic and working patent model. Folk art for sure! Nice old blue and mustard yellow paint in great original and unmessed with condition. Nice PA Dutch hex designs. Pewter hand engraved/etched name plate reads "Wm H. Pfrimmer" Unknown if this patent model ever went into production? Patent unknown. Actually works, scale bed moves up and down and t is a working, adjustable counter weight on the graduated brass beam. Appearently the patent specs would have regisistered a tally as t is a latch pawl mechanism works with a hand cut wood wheel and counter wheel that displayed totals on the corresponding two gauges on the front face. Excellent condition, measures 9-3/4 inches long by 8-3/4 wide, 4 inches tall (within the 10 X 10 inch size specifications of size for submitting a model to the U.S. Patent Office) A wonderful piece of true Americana and folk art at it's finest. I paid nearly 700 for this 10 years ago at Brimfield Antique show and thought it was a bargain. However, I have no clue what the market is bearing these days for patent models, by the way, I have no "original PM string tag" and have a very reasonable reserve. A rarity and real cremepuff for sure! Please add 20.00 to cover shipping, TLC packing and insurance costs to winning bid.
