This is a 4 board table that are tongue and groved ( I think that is the term used). The paint is worn off of the top of the table, but if you look under to the bottom of the top boards, they are the same color as the legs. I don't know my woods, so I can't say what kind of wood it is. The base is a quilting frame. The legs are X form with a wooden peg holding it in place. The winding rattched is made of wood as well as the notched that locks it in place. I would guess they removed the top to quilt and place it back to eat off of. I purchased this from a woman who told me she bought it out of a mansion in Pa yrs ago. This measures 6 ft long x 39 1/2"w x 29 1/2"h. If you are a collector of quilts this would be great for your collection. If you love quilting, you could actually use this. If you are into primatives, thsi would be the perfect kitchen farm table. In all my years of buying antiques, this is the fist one of these tables I have seem. Good luck bidding. High bidder MUST pick up or make all shipping arrangements. Thank you!
