Morse, Jedidiah. Isaiah Thomas and Ebenezer T. Adams, Boston, June 1802. Rare 18th Century American Geography Book! Bound in original leather boards, complete with gilt rule and original red title label to spine , also a small library sticker, as shown; boards intact at hinges. Unmarked minus signatures on first EP and verso of frontis map by a Josiah and George Reab. George was a Major general in the Revolutionary War; his son, Josiah, was a veteran of the War of 1812 as well. Great American provenance. Complete and intact including 7 of the 11 of the folding maps. A few maps have some splits and chips, as shown, but they all remain bound. Two of them are hand colored, also as shown. Main text with some edgewear, chipping and browning, but all leaves bound well and present. Great geographical and historical information within, with the rare maps as shown; 7 of 11 in total here are present. Josiah REAB-the son of George REAB, Revo lutionary War Major who lived in Salem, Washington Co., NY. Josiah REAB shows he served in the War of 1812 and is shown in the 1860 census of CT.
