DESCRIPTION: Original Handbill/Singlesheet/Broadside/Extra in Very Good condition - Printed on both sides. Previously tipped-in with archival tissue hinge - some remaining on edge - see scan. All four edges are uncut though some of the edges could be included in complete scan. Tipped-in edge with tissue over uncut edge. As-Is - please ask if condition questions not answered A VERY clean item with dark print as evident in scans - two small spots. Approximately 11.5"x18". CONTENT:

DESCRIPTION OF SIDES ONE & TWO: Front includes begins, with news from the New York Evening Post - "The shocking catastrophe which has recently occurred, terminating the life of Alexander Hamilton...will not be speedily terminated". Include on the front is the correspondence that passed between General Hamilton and Colonel Burr, including the full text of each with dates and place of writing and the chronological placement of each of the 12 items (the final two or so are on the back.
THE BACK - includes a little more than two of the pieces of correspondence, a Letter from Rev. Benjamin Moore on the sunject of the duel, to Mr. Coleman, dated July 4, 1804 (though it appears to have been on the 14th and is misprinted). the FUNERAL PROCESSION is described in detail with the traditional diagram of the placement of the pallbearers, family, dignitaries, military and more relative to the casket (see scan), the General's boots and spurs reversed on his horse behind the casket - Concluding the BACK PAGE is the WILL OF ALEXANDER HAMILTON signed on July 9th prior to the July 11th duel and his death on the 12th - signed by Dominick F. Blake, Graham Burrill and Theodore B. Valleau in New York and certified by Silvanus Miller, Surrogate on July 16th
