Original uncolored engraving as issued. Blank on verso. Engraved by Samuel Neele. Published by Richard Phillips, November 1806. Published in the Life of Washington by John Marshall. Image area is 10.0" w. X 16.75" h. Interesting and very detailed Revolutionary War map of Rhode Island. Extends from Newport th Providence. Entitled "A Map of Part of Rhode Island Shewing the Positions of the American & British Armies on the 29th of August 1778. Beautifully executed will frame nicely. Overall god condition with moderate ageing. Some typical offseting for a 200+ year old map. Multifolds are intact. Small tear where bound has bee mended with acid free material. All in all a wonderful piece of American History. Low starting bid with no reserve. Shipping cost is for insured domestic priority mail.
