This listing is for a 1808 document signed by President Thomas Jefferson. It was owned by an antique dealer in Montana who is now deceased. The document measures 18" x 15-1/2". The document itself is in very good shape. T are fold creases, but only one small hole in the document. The hole is about the size of a pencil lead & is located on the corners of a fold towards the bottom & does not interfere with any writing. T is fading to the hand written parts in the body of the document & the signature parts of the War Office & Secretary of War. The signature of Thomas Jefferson is quite strong. is what the document says - I will denote the parts that are handwritten with single quotes: The President of the United States of America - to all who shall see these presents (actually looks like prefents) Greeting: Know ye, that reposing special Trust and Confidence in the Patriotism.
