Puccini / Tosca / Tebaldi & Del Monaco (2 LP Box) Out of Print! This is a SUPER RARE Factory Sealed Super Analogue 180 gram 2 LP Box Set that comes complete with the coveted OBI strip! The strip and cover are in EXCELLENT condition. It contains a performance of Puccini's Tosca, featuring vocal soloists Tebaldi and Del Monaco. This box set contains Super Analogue LPs # 29101 and 29102. Many of the operas that were remastered by Superanalogue are quite good. They tend to avoid the harsh vocals that are sometimes found on the London originals, and are usually quite transparent. The quiet RTI 180 gram vinyl doesn't hurt either. Wikipedia History Tosca is an opera in three acts by Giacomo Puccini to an Italian libretto by Luigi Illica and Giuseppe Giacosa, based on Victorien Sardou's drama, La Tosca. The work premiered at the Teatro Costanzi in Rome on January 14, 1900. The original play by Victorien Sardou was produced in Paris in 1887 and seen by Puccini in Milan, in 1887, with Sarah Bernhardt as Tosca. Puccini immediately asked his editor Giulio Ricordi to buy Sardou's rights, but these were finally bought only in 1893 to be given to Alberto Franchetti, another composer. Illica wrote his libretto, and in October 1894, Franchetti, Ricordi, Illica and Giuseppe Verdi met Sardou to present him the libretto. Verdi was particularly fascinated read more
