Here is a crusted , 181 gram slice of the Casilda, Argentina H-5 meteorite. This beautiful 181 gram Casilda, is a olivine-bronzite, stony, chondrite meteorite, that was recovered in 1937 within the Sante Fe Province of Argentina. This slice is taken from a single stone find that totaled about 5.25 Kgs. This H-5 group chondrite has a high iron content and is a type 5 class chondrite that shows significant alteration to its chondrules due to heat metamorphosis. The pictured slice has the meteorite's natural crust on 3 sides, while the 4th side has a smooth sawn surface. This specimen shows an impact region and has expansion cracks that are visible on both surface faces. Its matrix exhibits the meteorite's high volume of metallic inclusions and measures approximately 131mm at its widest x 98mm at its tallest x 4mm in thickness .
