This is a fantastic early scrapbook that has 62 pages (counting front and back) that are filled with wonderful ephemera. T are morning cards, locks of hair, engravings, handwritten pieces, die-cuts, pressed leaves, a marvelous silhouette, newspaper cuts and much more. About 110 pieces of scrap in all. T are items as early as 1815 and some as late as 1869 and all are pasted to the pages of the album.I believe this scrapbook originally belonged to the Marsden and Lennox families of England and later from Sandusky Ohio. One of the members was a wholesale druggist. Youâe(tm)ll also find many other families represented such as; Peake, Mercer, Phillips, Richmond, Derby, Feast, Davies, White, Turner, Brook, Thomas, Newby, Gardner, Gell, Weir, Hartley, and more. Most of those are in the form of mourning cards and obituaries. T were several pieces that were of particular interest to me. First off as you can see in the scan below t is a beautiful silhouette. Itâe(tm)s in good condition and measures about 4 1⁄2" x 6" (the white mounting card that is). The silhouette itself measures about 1 1⁄2" x 3 1⁄2". I canâe(tm)t find a name or date on this piece but it is definitely before 1869. The next piece that really drew my attention was an engraving of a man sitting in a chair (see scans below). Pasted around the bottom is a title that says " read more
