DAVISON, WHITEFRIARS 1819 Selling here is Laurence Sterne's 'The Beauties of Sterne' printed in London by T. Davison, 1819. With an attractive fore edge painting depicting a four arch bridge over a river. 12mo, bound in period brown calf boards, double gilt ruled, recently professionally rebacked to match retaining original red morocco label, page edges gilt. The contents are complete, meeting collation: xii, 260pp, with the engraved title and frontispiece present as called for . T he binding is holding firmly and in good order, with some light rubbing to surface and edges. Textblock holding firmly, contents generally in good condition, a little toned, with some scattered foxing / browning more notable to the prelims, occasional light creasing or handling marks. Plain endpapers, browned, the lower FE pulling away, torn and a little chipped.
