This is a sailor carved coconut canteen with the date 1834 carved into one of the small panels. It has geometric style flowers and wavy line carvings. Done by an expert hand. It has one center hole at the top and two smaller holes for a strap to carry the coconut. it is very detailed. T is a crack running from the hole through a smaller hole and into the side of the canteen. The crack also goes off to the left of the main crack and looks as though it was repaired. The piece is fairly sturdy as the crack seems to be stabilized. Still a very important piece. Low reserve for such a rare item. All sales final. Paypal only. I have added a photo of the date.
