ANTIQUE BOTANICAL PRINT BY PANCRASE BESSA, CIRCA 1836: WHITE FRANGIPANI, PLUMERIA ALBA Fine, hand-colored stipple engraving by Pancrase Bessa, a contemporary of Pierre Joseph Redoute. Scarce and lovely. On fine, wove paper, creamy color. Herbiere Generale de L'Amateur and Flore des Jardinieres (Bessa's final work), were considered to be high points of French botanical illustration. We do not deal in reproductions.
