Thanks for looking at this auction. THIS ITEM IS BEING LISTED FOR THE BENEFIT OF A NON PROFIT THRIFT STORE, A COMPANY OF ANGELS, THAT HELPS PERSONS IN NEED IN MY COMMUNITY. YOU WOULD BE PURCHASING THE ITEM AS-IS, NO RETURN NO REFUND. TFORE, PLEASE READ THE LISTING DETAILS COMPLETELY. IF YOU HAVE ANY KIND OF A QUESTION ABOUT THE ITEM, SHIPPING, HANDLING, ETC. PLEASE MAKE AN INQUIRY BEFORE YOU BID SO T WOULD BE NO MISUNDERSTANDING AFTER THE AUCTION CLOSES.I do recommend that you insure fragile items of high value. The carrier handles very, very roughly. Insurance covers the cost of what you pay for the item. It does not cover the postage. The cost of postage is based on the weight of the package, its destination, its size and the method of shipping you can select from the invoice sent you, and whether you insure or not. I do charge a $1.00 handling fee to help defray the increased costs of packaging supplies and fuel. I am listing this for the thrift store. I really don't know much about antique prints. This was in an antique frame that was damaged too badly so it was thrown away. I think it to be an antique but I could be wrong. I will describe it as best I can and perhaps you have special questions you can ask that will help you determine whether it is an antique print as state. Even if it is not an antique as I think it is, it is a striking print to have on a large wall in a den or hunting lodge. The back of the print is a hard cardboard. To me it looks like the print was glued to this board because looking at the edge you can see it is two pieces. The lettering at the bottom is old type fancier lettering . On the lower left it states: Drawn from Nature by J. J. Audobon F R S F L S In the center is: Wild Turkey MELEAGRIS GALLOPAVO. Linn. Male. American Cane. Miegia macresperma. (The large lettering Meleagris etc. is double sided). Five different styles of lettering right in the middle. On the far right it states: Engraved, Printed & Coloured, by R. Havell 1836 It almost looks like water colors, some pale, some vibrant and not uniform. On the very top on the far left is No. 1 (with the raised o) and on the far right: PLATE 1 This is a VERY LARGE print. It is 35-1/2" high x 24-1/2" wide. On the outer left side t is a hole w the nail from the frame went through and again on the far top. These are on the outer border and do not damage the inner picture. T is a scratch about 1" long on the very lower portion of the tail. A couple little white spots on the far lower right just above the dark section. The picture has most likely faded from age.
