The Boston Semi-Weekly Courier for Jan 11, 1839. An original 4 page newspaper in vg condition with an extensive article on a tour of the Boston & Sandwich Glass Works, headlined "Boston & Sandwich Glass Works", undertaken by a few newspaper correspondents from Yarmouth, Mass, conducted by the then Superidentendant of the Glass Works, William Stutson. It is a very long 26 column inches (very small print to boot) and begins with a description of the general grounds, with the two buildings with 8 and 10 pots, respectively. It was in 1839 one of the largest glass factories of the era, and they are quick to mention the particular quality of the glass " The Glass is superior to any manufactured in the United States, and equal in the brilliancy of the material, and in the beautiful and classic form of articles, to the best specimens from Europe."
