Two antique circa 1840's (?...see note below) Civil War Cavalry Swords and Scabbards....one is marked " J.B.A " with what looks to be a " T" underneath the J.B.A. mark. (On the other sword, it also has the " T"....but, no J.B.A. that I can see.) The other may very well be marked, too...although, t is light rust...and I am leaving the swords and scabbards in as-found condition. The grips are leather wrapped in a twisted brass wire. The one grip is more worn than the other...with twisted wire wear and or possible loss. Other grip is in great condition. The blades of the swords are in great condition ( edges are still sharp!) as is the scabbards ( sheaths that hold the swords)...with once again...some minimal residue or rust.... in need of a gentle polish cleaning. I am by far....NOT an expert on Civil War weapons...so please ask any questions and I will do my best to answer them. Please excuse my unknowingness in describing the parts of the swords. I have taken more pictures than turbo-lister allows...so, send me your email address...and I will forward them on to you. These have been in my friend's family for years...and my friend recently read more
