Antique small oval Harvard style Shaker box with carved fingers, thick wood, copper nails, wooden pegs, original & splendid old green paint and original old dry surface, untouched and as found. Maine , 1840. Guaranteed old and original; this is not a fake or reproduction. Actual weight 1/2 lbs. 6 3/8" long by 4 3/4" wide by 2 5/8" tall outside lid edge measurements . Handmade and hand carved from thick white pine and birch, fastened with copper nails and wooden pegs, a small Harvard style Shaker oval finger box with it's original & splendid old green paint and retaining it's original old dry surface, untouched and as found. This is a beautifully proportioned, beautifully constructed Shaker box with outstanding original old green paint and it's original old dry surface. It is an earlier Harvard style box with rich Shaker quality for both the hand and eye when handled including thick early construction, exceptionally fine and early finger joinery, exemplary old green paint and a best quality original dry surface. We are pleased to have found this box and delighted to offer it. These early Shaker boxes are not being found particularly with original old paint and original old surface. This is a good chance to get a great early box. Very good as found condition. Aside from light & appropriate wear to the paint, the box is in perfect condition. Right off the attic floor it has appropriate surface oxidation and soiling for it's age and from it's attic residence. This is a superior Shaker box with an unusually fine old green paint and original dry surface. Please see photographs.
