This is a pleasing and scarce old Maine farm find of classic form. We bought this charmer on Tuesday along with a truck load of antiques from a family dispersing their inherited Cumberland , Maine estate. All parties had gatd to finalize the "ANTIQUES" distribution and were in fine and steady form until the out-of-state family members discovered that they had their cash inheritance charged by the cash value of the antiques they "took". A family fight ensued and the result was our empty truck and full checkbook in the yard of the old homestead that morning. The estate had been methodically appraised and itemized. We purchased directly from that inventory while the family members bickered among themselves and chose to "keep" very, very little. We sought out and purchased all their "early" "things". This sugar bowl form, in sheet iron tin & tole paint decoration, we do not find often so it was a surprise to find this one freshly retrieved from the attic. The charm to usâe¦ is that this little tin jewel was âe¦really, really used âe¦ at the kitchen tableâe¦ on this old Maine farmâe¦ to serve brown sugarâe¦ for tea and coffee. What a wonderful heritage. Used and used and used andâe¦ finallyâe¦ attic bound. Resurrected during the inventory, no one in the family "cared" thatâe¦ theirâe¦ greatest great grandmother and grandfatherâe¦sat and talked while spooning and stirring their sugar from this "tin". How long did they share from this before a "new" "china" sugar bowl took it's place? And then what? "Attic bound". Truly the tin jewel of the early Maine farm kitchen table. The core of this estate was the truly old "attic bound" "old settler" "things". We bought them all and this classic tole paint decorated tin sugar bowl is from this attic lot. Very good as found condition considering it's appropriate usage wear to be a testimony to it's active usage and eventual attic storage in this estate. Aside from this very authentic old usage ware, the sugar bowl is in perfect condition. The sugar bowl is very lightly dust soiled and we have not touched it. Right out of the attic, the sugar bowl has appropriate surface oxidation, wear and soiling for it's age and from it's old Maine estate residence. Please see photographs. As found last Tuesday in an estate in Cumberland , Maine . Seeking things fresh found in attics? Please see our listings from current estates in our Ebay auctions, please check our Ebay store for selections from our business stock and please check our Ebay ME page for calendar updates and shipping dates. Please purchase with confidence for we are both eBay and PayPal financially ID verified. This was in the attic. We have done nothing to it at all; it is just as we found it. It looks like good one to us! We offer this old appropriately usage worn Maine farm kitchen table veteran tole paint decorated sheet iron tin sugar bowl for $4.99 NR..
