1843 Steamboat and Railroad Broadside WILLARD'S NEW MAP of the HUDSON RIVER, featuring an engraving of the steamboat TROY.

This 29" long 11.5" wide broadside features a map of the towns, railroads and steamboat lines stretching from Staten Island to Whitehall, NY.

Along each side of the map are descriptions of the Steamboat "Troy," the Rennelaer and Saratoga Railroad and Troy and Schenectady Railroad; and detailed descriptions of the towns and cities that they service. Towns and cities featured include Troy, West Troy, Albany, Athens, Catskill, Newburgh, Kingston, West Point, Greenbush, Hudson City, Poughkeepsie, Tarrytown, The Palisades and the town of Sing Sing, "delightfully situated on the bank east of the Hudson River."

Also included are distances by railroad (and also steamboat, when applicable) from Troy to Boston, Washington DC, Buffalo, and Montreal.

This is a fantastic piece, giving a wonderful glimpse of the Hudson River valley of the early Nineteenth Century.
