This great coin looks and is nicer in hand than the scans indicate.Any specks or flecks are on the scanner glass. Not the piece.Note: Better date early gold in better grades is grossly undervalued in my opinion.This is a scarce specimen of the 1843 O Quarter Eagle. Scarce Small Date. NGC AU 55. Looks nicer than scan indicate and has become undervalued in the market. No motto. Early date $2.50 Liberty Gold Piece. Better date and grade coin. Superb strike as easily seen. No cleaning or any attempt at enhancement whatsoever. Becoming evidently more scarce. No distractions whatsoever. Scarce in any and all grades. Very seldomly seen this nice. Absolutely, positively a genuine New Orleans Mint issue. Only a very small fraction of the original mintage remain in existence. An excellent scarce early gold type coin. This scarce piece was minted at New Orleans in 1843. Highly sought after by both dealers and serious collectors of scarce gold coins. Please review 'Larger Pictures' I provided for you .
