1845 Victorian Staffordshire Jug Scene Audley End Essex Welcome to Bigals Pandoras Box, treasures to suit every pocket This auction is for a good quality piece of early Victorian pottery in the form of a named scene presentation jug. The scene is of Audley End in Essex and the jug is dated by inscription as 1845. This piece was a presentation piece to George Robert Rowe Esquire M.D.F.S.A in 1845. This is a wonderfull piece , the colours are really strong , as is the gilding. Apart from the handpainted scene there are also panels of exquisitely painted roses and other floral decorations, as shown This piece measures approx 10 inches tall . I have tried to show the full condition within the photographs , the jug is generally in excellent condition , but there is a hairline in the base of the piece , this is old and stable and only runs for the length shown . This is small damage after nearly 170 years A good item in as stated condition.
