Hello Cival War buffs, I have a pre-CIVIL WAR sword/saber from 1847.Some descriptions ive seen of similar edged weapons ,have decribed this blade as the knuckle buster. On one side of the blade t is a U.S. stamp, and the other side it reads CABOTVILLE 1847, and t is something above the word cabotville ,but i cant make it out.At the top of the handle,t are two different sets of initials J.W.R. and RC, these initials will most likely help in finding out more specifics on who owned this saber, and maybe w it was used. This is a fantastic piece of AMERICAS past,160 years past ,and with time comes wear ,and unfortunately not the care this sword deserved. The knuckle guard looks pretty good. The wooden handle is cracked and missing all but 4 of the wires it original had wrapping it.The blade has rust ,as you can see in the photos. The blade is 36 inches long and weighs about 3 lbs.Shipping will be for 6 lbs, extra packing for protection, and t will be a 1.00 chg to cover for delivery confirmation. This is the second time around for this item.T was an attempt to purchase this sword with a stolen account. If you were included in the auction before,or have seen this item, that is why.Contact me with questions ,or for more photos.BLESS THOSE WHO MAY HAVE DIED BY THIS SWORD.
