Fantastic and detailed southern stampless folded letter here! Three pages written January 8, 1848 by "Freeman" in Holly Springs, Mississippi and sent to Franklin Freeland in Sutton, Massachusetts (see link below). Writer (seems to a woman) gives detailed description of their daily routine, making flapjack pancakes for breakfasts, cotton plantation life and business, says the Alderson's have a black woman (presume a slave) who comes over to help with washing and cooking and send a little (n*gger - we use this name only for historic accuracy in the letter) who comes over three times a day to help, great description of making clothese, the types, styles etc... plus many names refeerenced in this letter. I just skimmed it quickly but more study will reward you.
