1848 Lebanon, Pennsylvania Handwritten Poetry, Autograph Album, Elmina Phreaner The Young Ladies Album, small bookplate, Published by T. W. Strong, New York. Leather bound, with gilt trim, a dozen or so hand-colored engravings. Content: Owned by Elmina Phreaner (1826-1900) of Lebanon who later married Charles P. C. Molly. About 60pp of entries from friends and acquaintances, male and female. Mostly 1848-1850, with a few dated 1900. Filled with poems, an acrostic and some fancy calligraphy. Tipped to page opposite title, small floral watercolor on embossed paper. Size : 7.75" x 9.75", a few hundred pages, appx 60pp used. Condition : Covers with wear, scuffs. Inside pages with toning, tissue leafs with foxing. Binding secure. VG Original item.
