News in detail of the Fremont Expedition, from the frontier of Missouri to the Pacific. Letters received from Bent's Fort on the Upper Arkansas giving accounts of his explorations..describes his account of coming up on over 600 lodges of different tribes of Indians, such as those of the Apaches, Comanches, Kiowas and the Arapahoes. They found them friendly and traded small gifts with them. A section that lists hundreds of names of those who have left for California., the names of those who have arrived by steamship., many came overland with the guidance of military officers who knew the way.
