1849-O Very Rare date Liberty Seated quarter, PCGS G details, ex jewelry. How can one argue that determination? The fact is that this coin has been through the mill, perhaps more than once. Clearly, there are 2 spots on the reverse where mounts were removed, and we suppose that some of the other damage seen was a result of heating the coin to remove those mounts. But, make no mistake, this one had a rough life and really needs a caring home. How many of this rare issue were minted? Good question. No official mintage figure was given, beyond a combined one that included the 1850-O coins. Briggs estimates the mintage of 1849-O quarters at 16,000. What's it worth? Let's find out!
