O'Callaghan, M.D. Published by Weed, Parsons, & Co., Public Printers, Albany, NY, 1850. First Edition. The book is bound in decorative brown cloth with tooled front and back covers and copper gilt titling and decorations on the spine. T is bumping to the corners and to the top and bottom of the spine. The covers are firmly attached and the hinges work very well. The book measures 9 ½” tall x 6-1/2” wide x 3-1/2 inches wide. T are 1215 mostly immaculate, crisp, cream pages which have aged to a light ivory color. Volume III is arranged into 24 sections which include chapters on Champlain’s expeditions to Northern and Western NY in 1609 and 1615, various chapters concerning settlement and wars within counties of New York, a chapter on the state of the Anglo-American church in 1776, a chapter on the prices of land in New York as of 1791, chapters on the exploration of waters of Western New York, the Journal of Rev.
