Very interesting postal cover with the first US postage stamp (Scott #1) nicely tied with Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Jul 5 cts. blue postmark to Mrs. Sigmund H. Horstmann (of) , Ephrata, care Charles Wentz & Bro., Lancaster PA with 2 pp. content dated Philadelphia Jul 22 1850, from her husband, Sigmund, concerning personal and family business. Fine cond., t are two horizontal filing creases which affect stamp (please examine scan) *************************************************We have been in the paper Americana and postal history businesses since 1953 and are members of the Manuscript and Ephemera Societies as well as the American Stamp Dealers Association, American Philatelic Society, Canadian Stamp Dealers Association (Canada), Philatelic Traders Society (Great Britain) and numerous other collector organizations.
