1850'S AMERICAN SILVER LADLE BY GEORGE SHARP & BAILEY Presented is a fine quality American coin silver or sterling silver ladle by George Sharp of Philadelphia. This piece is hallmarked on the reverse with George Sharp's hallmarks, which are quite unusual in this case because t are two hallmarks of lions. Bailey & Co. was a retailer in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. This company later became Bailey Banks and Biddle. This is a small soup or punch ladle. The ladle has fancy engraved decoration and a shield shaped cartouche on the front. The ladle is monogrammed M.B in old English or Gothic script. The condition is excellent. T no breaks, no dents, no splits, no repairs, no monogram removals and no problems of any kind. The length is 9 1/4 inches. The weight is 93 grams or 3 troy ounces.
