1850s DUBUQUE, IOWA LAND DOCUMENTS - (15) LOT, NAMES - Early Settlers, Pioneers Lot of (15) documents consisting of deeds, agreement, release of dower, etc. Most, if not all, appear to have a connection to Richard Waller and City of Dubuque. One Jackson Co., IA. 1850s, one 1849. Many names and signatures, including: Joseph P. Farley , established steamboat 1850, an 1855 organizer of the Dubuque and Pacific Railroad, town of Farley named for him. Henry Lane Stout (1814-1900) - One of the wealthiest individuals in 19th Century Dubuque. He amassed a fortune from mercantile pursuits, Wisconsin mills, banking and mining investments. William G. Stewart (1813-1900) - First sheriff of Dubuque County; served term Iowa Senate; railroad director; county treasurer; President, Dubuque County bank. L. A.
