1850's George Sharp Figural COW Master BUTTER KNIFE,N/R
If you read my auctions, you know I don't rave very much. This piece is a rare exception. Wow, what a great piece of silver! It is 8" long & the blade is 1 1/8" at the widest. The cow is about .5" deep. The cow head has great detailing and the blade is nicely engraved, with the hallmarks on the reverse. Engraved "Wollf" on the back of the handle. Not marked, but presumed to be Sterling Silver; you decide. Sharp worked in Philadelphia from 1850-1874. This type of silver hardly ever surfaces around , so take advantage of the No Reserve auction.
SHIPPING QUOTES; Do you see the yellow rectangle just below this text? Try it first, before asking, please. All auctions will complete and all items or lots sell intact, as presented. Ask questions! ESTIMATED shipping costs may be higher than the ACTUAL cost. If you do not pay for insurance, you are NOT COVERED for loss or damage, period. I am allowing buyers to opt out of insurance on cheaper and non-fragile items. UNTIL someone holds me to a loss claim with eBay/Paypal after skipping insurance. Also, estimates of weight on items are ESTIMATES and NOT guaranteed accurate.... read more
