We think it might be German or maybe British. Based on the style we believe it is from the mid 1850's. There are no makers marks. It has several unit marks on the grip and guard. It has been painted gold. The blade feels loose if you shake the sword. The blade measures 21.5". It appears to be in good condition with some black spots. We include a leather scabbard. The leather is stiff and it has shrunk. It does not fit completely. The brass has been painted gold. There are some inspection marks on the scabbard - a crown over an A. Please look at the photos for exact condition and in the event we have missed something in the written description. Sold as is- as shown. This is a used item. It MAY show wear from age dirt or use. This item MAY have been used during a war so it's condition will reflect that. If this item is made of wool moth bites are ALWAYS a possibility. We do our best to point out their presence.
