This auction is for a model 1851 or 1854 Shako/Cap. I am not 100% certain but I assume it is a reproduction or an old copy, made how long ago I do not know? It feels to be made from a stiff leather body then cloth covered, it has a black cloth lining and stiff leather visor, as you can see in the photos there is a black pompon, I do not know how much of the insignia is original CW, but I am sure the company letter "C" certainly is, I am not sure about the other insignia, I do not want remove it due to risk of damaging it, there is no makers mark on the reverse of the buttons. The hat is a great solid example that displays very well that could still be used. It has a leather sweatband in good condition and chin strap. The inside of the hat measures about 21.5". Please email with any questions, see my other auctions for similar items. I ship internationally via airmail 5-10 days. Payment is due by five days after close of auction.
