Certainly one of the most recognizes names in lamps is Bradley&Hubbard. The company loosely began in 1852 in Meriden, Connecticut when Nathaniel and William Bradley,Orson & Chitten Hatch, and Walter Hubbards, formed Bradley, Hatch&company. A Fabulous Antique 19th century Bradley & Hubbard Converted/electrical Solid Yellow Gold Brass ELEGANT VICTORIAN student OIL LAMP. As you can see on the pictures it is signed Bradley & Hubbard on the inside of oil canister. A popularity of the lamp made by famous Oil lamps makers Bradley&Hubbard just growing every year in it's value and becoming difficult to cross by and especially in working condition. It has metal weighted bottom ( on the inside of brass base t is a metal disk,. I guess for stability) It is in very good condition and I think mechanical part of it still will work. The electrical cord goes next to the oil pipe. The first pict. shows the heavy brown patina the last shows how it'll look after you clean it. T is one very small dint on the lead of oil canister .. but the rest of it is perfect condition with no repairs. You will need to find the shade and chimney. The original chimney should be milk glass and the shade over it was yellow reversepainted short and wide glass.. ( go " Lamp parts " and you'll find something close to it) If you want to see how it look like go Google>Bradley&Hubbard>lamp company. The shade holder on this lamp is movable ( I guess you can minimize the diameter of the shade fitter from 10" to 8" or may be even 6" ). The lamp standing perfectly strait.
